The commercial exchanges between India and Vietnam are showing a significant increase. During the seminar "India Calling 2011", held in Hanoi and organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Embassy of India in Vietnam, the focus was on economic and trade relations between the two Asian countries, and the picture that emerged was very positive. The seminar was attended by 50 Indian entrepreneurs from 30 different companies from the sectors of energy, construction, education, finance, high tech and industrial equipment. Trade flows between the two countries reached $ US 2.75 billion in 2010, an increase of 35% compared to the same period of 2009, and it should be noted that during the first nine months of 2011 the total amount of exchange was $US 3.6 billion, with a growth of over 33% compared to the same period of the last year. The governments of Hanoi and New Delhi aim to take this to $ US 5 billion by 2015. With the rapid growth of Asian economies, Indian companies are exploring investment opportunities in Vietnam, where they create joint ventures or in other cases buy out local companies in entirety or in part.
