For an Italian organisation, and more so for a small / medium enterprise, the decision to invest in a foreign market is usually a delicate moment in the life of an organisation mainly because approaching a foreign market usually involves serious & notable financial investments.

Octagona, through its own network of collaborators would like to assist the SME’s through a search of sources for financing the internationalization projects. 

One of the important financiers is the SIMEST (Società Italiana per le Imprese all’Estero). It was incorporated in 1990 as the society for action (Law n° 100 of 24.4.1990) and the financial development of Italian organisation abroad. The society is controlled by the Italian government through the Ministry of International Trade that controls 76% of the share; the remaining part is in the control of banks, association of entrepreneurs and such categories. SIMEST is a member of the INTERACT-EDFI, the European association for financial development.

The fundamental activity of the society is to extend its assistance through a series of services primarily of a financial nature to the organisations that intend to extend their operations whether productive or commercial, to overseas countries.
